About
My name is Gonçalo Trincão Cunha, I’m a Lisbon-based software engineer driven by a deep curiosity for science-related topics.
Not too long ago, while enjoying a day at the beach with my children, they expressed a keen interest in building a sundial using a simple stick in the sand. Regrettably, the results fell short of expectations, revealing a time discrepancy of over an hour when compared to a standard wristwatch.
Intrigued by this notable difference, I started to investigate the cause. The outcome of that research is this website, where I try to make it easier for others to build accurate sundials.
